Database Engineer / DBA

Responsibilities: 

1. Install and configure Database servers, especially MySQL, SQL Server, and Oracle 

2. Update DB  servers using with DDL, code changes, data udpates 

3. Maintain a secure server using standard techniques 

4. Install and manage DB  services such as Replication, Backups, and Monitoring Tools 

5. Manage DB networking, client librarieas, and load balancing

6. Manage DB  high-availability including HA / DRDB, Clusteres, RAC, etc.

7. Monitor server performance with standard tools 

9. Manage DB storage via  NFS, SANs, SAMBA 

10. Manage DB test environments

11. Manage MemCache interconnections 

12. Use other tools such as ER Diagram/Models, Admin Tools, et. 

13. Teach other staff key skills 

14. Create and update accurate system documentation 

15. Accurately track their time for billing 

16. Always provide excellent professional service to customers 

Requirements: 

1. At least 3 years of in-depth Database system administration experience in production environment 

2. Strong knowledge of Linux or Windows basic concepts, commands, and administration 

3. Strong knowledge of server security, threats, and management 

4. Experience with the most of the tools and systems listed above in Responsibilities 

5. Experience troubleshooting problems in every server area such as crashes, stability, and performance 

6. Be willing to do overtime job as needed for projects & production systems maintenance requirements 

7. Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline is required; 

8. Strong analytical, problem solving, self study, teamwork and user support skills/attitudes are required 

9. Effective spoken and written English and Chinese communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with end-users, peers and management and provide technical leadership as needed
