Network Engineer

All of systems depend on a solid, secure, high-performance network, both inside our IDCs and across the Chinese Internet.  The Network Engineering job is critical to keeping things working to support the entire team, our infrastructure, and our clients.

Responsibilities: 

1. Install and configure network equipment, including routers, switches, firewalls, IDS, and load balancers

2. Update OS and configurations as needed

3. Maintain a secure network using standard and advanced techniques 

4. Install and manage network services such as LVS, OSPF, BGP, and various fail-over protocols

5. Help manage networking security at the OS level, including advanced iptables 

6. Manage network high-availability

7. Monitor network performance and security

8. Setup and manage monitoring using tools such as Nagios, Mrtg 

9. Manage configurations, documentation, and audit for network equipment

10. Manage Xen and VMware virtualization networking issues such as virtual switches and firewalls

12. Manage other networking technologies such as Linux as router, switch, and firewall

13. Use other tools such as Wireshark, Snort, and wire-level hacking tools

14. Teach other staff key skills 

15. Create and update accurate system documentation 

16. Accurately track their time for billing 

17. Always provide excellent professional service to customers 

Requirements: 

1. At least 3 years of in-depth networking administration experience in production environment 

2. Strong knowledge of networking basic concepts, commands, and administration 

3. Strong knowledge of server and network security, threats, and management 

4. Experience with the most of the tools and systems listed above in Responsibilities 

5. Experience troubleshooting problems in every network area 

6. Be willing to do overtime job as needed for projects & production systems maintenance requirements 

7. Bachelor degree or above in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline is required; 

8. Strong analytical, problem solving, self study, teamwork and user support skills/attitudes are required 

9. Effective spoken and written English and Chinese communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with end-users, peers and management and provide technical leadership as needed
